The Marie-Schlei-Verein is a German non-governmental organisation that supports training projects for women in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The support refers exclusively to projects that focus on the vocational training of poor women. The aim is for women to be able to generate their own income with the newly acquired skills, with which they can improve their standard of living and that of their families. In addition, seminars in management, accounting, marketing, customer service, etc. can also be planned. The Marie-Schlei-Verein shows solidarity with women from developing countries by helping them to help themselves. The projects should preferably be carried out by women’s organisations or by organisations with their own women’s advancement department. The Marie-Schlei-Verein does not support projects in which children or men are trained. Every women’s organisation or group from Africa, Asia and Latin America can apply for funding. Organisations from industrialised countries and Europe are not eligible to apply. In general, only projects for women are supported, children and men are not supported. The central concern of the project should be to provide the women with a vocational qualification with which they can earn an income directly following their training. If the training is not designed to generate an income of their own, this is not supported by the Marie-Schlei-Verein. Courses in literacy, marketing or bookkeeping can also be offered, but not as central training for the project. The association does not support pure investment projects. Here, too, investment is only supported to the extent that it is necessary for women to earn an income. An application for support should be submitted in writing to the Marie-Schlei-Verein two weeks before the next board meeting. This can be done by e-mail or letter. All questions on the application form should be answered. There is no entitlement to funding. The board of the Marie-Schlei-Verein will decide on funding. https://www.marie-schlei-verein.de/projektdurchfuehrung/” “Pasch Initiative – Schools: Partners for the Future Pasch supports long-term partnerships with schools in Germany and abroad through grants for student group exchange visits. Fares for the German and foreign students will be paid as well as accompanying adults. Support is also given for the costs of the programme in Germany. Both German and foreign groups receive a subsidy for the costs of the project. Grants are also given for preparatory visits.

ASA-Programm – Engagement Global
The ASA programme gives space to support young people who want to understand global interconnections, who ask critical questions, who want to get qualifications and have the space to get involved and to strengthen themselves to work for a fair world. Complex global challenges as well as a sustainable use of natural resources and their fair distribution, fair working and living conditions and inclusive societies as well as overcoming crises and conflicts can only be faced up to, and perhaps solved, when enough people are able to consider the effects of their behaviour and are able to act with sensitivity to work towards ways of finding solutions. To do this, knowledge about global connections and their interplay is just as important as the necessary experience in an international context and knowledge of ways how to pass this knowledge on to others. This is the aim of the ASA programme. Participants experience several day long seminars in Germany followed by a practical three month placement in one of more than 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America or Southern Europe. Some projects begin with a three month placement in Germany. While taking part in a global learning project the participants reflect on and discuss what they have learned and experienced in a global context locally. The ASA programme gives logistic and financial support and monitors the process of reflection.

AGP-Aktionsgruppenprogramm – Engagement Global
Are you planning a project or activities aimed at recycling mobile phones? Or do you want to organise a Fair Trade workshop? You can apply for financial support if you are planning an educational, political or information project in development issues. The AGP Aktionsgruppenprogramm (Action Group Programme) from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development supports schools and initiatives with up to 2,000 Euros which want to share and deepen their knowledge about the interconnections in one world. Global interconnections are easier to understand through personal experience. Looking at water supply worldwide in a school project or in a discussion amongst trainees about the maintenance of industrial health and safety standards and labour laws in India demonstrate in a lively realistic way how development issues also affect our own day to day reality. That is the reason why AGP gives financial support to nursery schools, schools, action groups and voluntary initiatives that focus on development issues by supporting information workshops, conferences, seminars workshops and a great deal more.
